You left out the MERGE LANE. Leaving OKC, today. Stuck behind a 20 yo, sitting in turn lane, on his phone. Left turn arrow goes green. He sits, car behind me, starts honking. He continues with his phone. Finally, looks up and proceeds at snail pace. I get the yellow, about half way through. Several run the red.

Idiot hits merge lane, to get on I-44. Never gets above 30 mph, hits signal and pulls into traffic lane. Brakes lock up. 1 serves into merge lane, in front of me. (I am laying back to have room to accelerate.) Catch azzwipe before the next exit, never gets above 45 and is riding the left lane.

Traffic in Dallas is horrible, but they know how to merge. Most around here believe they have the right-of-way.

Drive around Ada sometime, holy crap you take our life in your hands.

I would rather drive in Dallas, in rush hour than in Ada in "rush hour" its a damn joke.

Yield signs, mean nothing, just take them down already. I have learned at two exchanges here, if I am not taking a on ramp, move over to the left lane, because some asswipe will come shooting out of the exchange, right in front of you and not even hit the brake, signal or look.

Gas stations, those pumps are not for getting gas they are for parking while you go inside and ******** and get your little coffee, coke, burrito or whatever.

I keep saying we need a law to keep Californians out of our state!!!! I’m serious people!

Drive in Tulsa. Light turns green and let the red light runners get through first. Light turns red, intersection blocked by left turning cars that don’t know to stop when no where to go. Driving on freeway doing speed limit and get passed by everyone but grandpa. Try to keep safe distance from car in front and five cars will get in front of you. Can’t tell difference in drivers no matter the tag. I just stay in the slow lane and stay out of the way.:anyone:
Tulsa traffic is...not awesome. To put it bluntly, I think it's some of the worst driving in the state. That said, my brother had to drive to Houston a few weeks ago, and he basically told me to quit bitchin' about Tulsa traffic after driving through DFW. He used to do it daily (worked in downtown Dallas), and he said he'd forgotten how terrible traffic was down there. Also said you couldn't pay him enough to go back.

Let me edit to add the term Okie referred to the people who were fleeing the region during the dust bowl from 1935-40 its recorded that 250,000 Okies fled from Oklahoma, Texas , Arkansas and Missouri . Not that 250,000 Oklahomans fled ..
As I recall my Oklahoma History, as you say, a lot of those "Okies" weren't from Oklahoma. One of the common ploys used by the CHP to repel migrants was to turn them back at the border if they didn't have valid license plates. The state of Oklahoma (and, IIRC, Arkansas) capitalized on this and sold license plates to pretty much anyone who would buy them.

I'll have to disagree having known too many people in my family and otherwise who came back and many before 1941 . There was a war industry all over the US not just the west and east coasts .

So the term I love, “Okie” is a negative word, that could be potentially taken by some as an insult? I’ve heard this before but I never really thought it was bad.

It was California Slur for poor white trash escaping the problems being experienced due to drought , etc in this part of the world. It was later embraced as a badge of honor by native Oklahoman's who survived and came back

Okie was a pejorative, as was "sooner." We took them and made them our own (e.g, making the state nickname "the Sooner State"), erasing those negative connotations. That's why there's a line in the state Centennial Song, Oklahoma Rising, that says, "I'm an Okie and I'm proud, So when you call me Okie, man, you'd better say it loud."
