I still have all of my regular season tags, but we are tagged out on the DMAP.
Took the last doe tonight with the Super Red hawk .44 mag 220 gn HP. I recovered the bullet from the off shoulder and I'll get a pic of it and get it posted.
Its all about bird hunting now with my favorite buddy...Gunner.

Gunner doesn't appear to be too into it. Cute pic though.

Is that a Browning forend I see there?

Trust me he is so into it.:D We will be pheasant/quail hunting tomorrow. He is a great field dog, and a great friend.:D

The ability of a dog to smell just amazes me.
I can hunt where he has never been, and he just kind of sniffes me.
If I have been where he has been, he just goes bezerk. He smells the tires on the truck and does the same....

Yes that is a Browning sweet 16, bought at a farm auction. When I bought it I talked to the owner afterward and found out it was built and sold in the 50's. It had never been shot.

Coming back from WWII. He had it restocked with a hi grade Bishop stock for his wife , and she got sick and died before it was ever shot.

I spent a lot of time wondering if it was right to shoot it, and finally decided to go for it.

Took lots of pheasant and quail with it last year.
I love to have guns with a history. Every time I buy a used gun, I try to get the history on it.
Bought a rifle at an auction last year that a WWII vet brought home, 1941 Jappenese 7.7 that he restocked with a Bishop stock, shortened the barrel and bent the bolt grip to accept a scope.

I'm a gun nut I guess.

Very nice Sweetie you have there. I have my grandfather's with a born on date of 1962. I don't think it's had more than a box or two put through it. If I had the box and papers it could pass for NIB.

I'm gonna shoot it one of these days. Hope to get back into bird hunting at some point. That will be the goto gun.
