We have an Old Towne Loon that is a tandem (two seater), and a Walden, not a Vista, but like one with less frills. Anyway, the Walden is 38 lbs, and easy to paddle fast, but it is slender, so easier to roll in. I think it would take an act of congress to tip that Loon. Super wide, super stable. It has a foot rudder too, and tons of room to put crap, but I think it weighs almost 80 lbs.
Neither are "fishing" kayaks, but I have noticed that fish will still jump on my hook. My point being: although you can spend thousands for a fancy fishing kayak, you can also spend a lot less. I think we paid $400 for the Loon, and $250 for the Walden, both from craigslist. If it gets you out on the water, and holds your junk, what more do you need?
My point being: This is $150. It's a great price!
