Conflagrations on your new boat. I would try a few lakes close to home and pick one so you will have an opportunity to use your boat more often if you have a free day or even a free afternoon to get out.

Most all lakes have some spots where the depth looks safe from the surface but there might be surprise shallow spots or rocks just under the water to get familiar with. Also after using primarily one lake for a while you will get familiar with places you can easily pull up on the shoreline that would be better for people to get out and wade or swim in the water if they would like.

I live on the north end of Ft Gibson east of Tulsa. I was out this morning a few hours with one of the dogs enjoying the fresh air and the smooth water. Nothing else like it if it is something you enjoy.

Grand lake O the cherokees. Twenty some restaurants/marina's on the lake. More shoreline than than from the tip of Maine to the tip of Florida. Coves that go back for miles. Great fishing. Moderate clear water that is perfect for fishing.
