Got the senior double dose a few weeks ago, felt like crap for 3 days. I have always felt like if everyone I know gets the shot then I don't need to ha!

Not directly, but indirectly. After the flu shot, there is a short window of time when your immune system is compromised because of the antibody buildup responding to the flu shot. You are more susceptible to pick up a bug or flu during this time. It also takes a period of time (up to a couple of weeks) before the flu immunization takes full effect. And as everyone knows, getting the flu shot doesn’t guarantee that you won’t get the flu - guessing the proper strain(s) in a particular year is challenging
