That was in Commiefornia, so you are not far off the mark. What is scary is that I have customers who, when I knock on the door, still yell out to come in. Granted, they (most times) know I am coming, but its still no guarantee that its me on the other side of the door.

In Khaleefohneeya, you would not pass Go, not collect $200, go directly to jail.

In civilized states like Oklahoma and Texas, it would probably depend on the prosecutor. A reasonable person would feel some level of physical threat on seeing that video, but shooting through the door isn't the best option unless they're trying to breach it themselves.

In Texas, your protection would probably be better, as (at least as I understand it) Texas law allows you to shoot in defense of property, whereas Oklahoma law generally only allows you to shoot in defense of people (or, in some cases, livestock).

ETA: I will say this. Under those circumstances, if you start to breach my door, expect gunfire once you get it started opening. If you shoot through my door, expect return fire immediately. I'll take my chances with the legal system.

You guys all have it wrong. This was just the local Antifa chapter recruiting neighborhood upstanding citizens to join their righteous cause. They meant no harm.

If that where my house I'd like to think I would remain calm, prepare to defend, but stay inside and call the popo. I think I would have a hard time letting them leave before the police arrived knowing they would just find another victim. I would NOT shoot through the door. That's inviting an ambitious prosecutor to come at you. If they are breaking the door down, then one has to decide what level of force (or threat of force) to take.
