Jim,

Very sorry that you're going through this right now. I'll be praying that you'll get well soon. Recovering from a joint replacement is hard enough without adding a heart attack recovery on top of it. I completely agree that someone was looking out for you considering the timing.

He'll get a two-fer/double dose on the physical therapy: cardiac recovery and hip installation which will be complicated by the extended inactivity from the heart attack treatment/aftercare.

Jim, we all need that wake-up call from time to time. Prayers for continued recovery for you.

No way. I don’t need no damn wake up call, nossirree, uh uh...I’ve slept through way too many alarms already, I’m skeered my luck might be running out. But I am glad you pulled it off man. Like Dennis said, you must be one tough hombre. I bet you’re tougher than woodpecker lips. Dang. I will sure send some prayers up for a quick recovery for you as well.

Quick update. Doing much better. Mainly nursing the ribs, but am able to get a decent nights sleep. Finally! Really want to thank everybody for the calls, messages and especially prayers. Several have accused me of being tough. Nope, just too ornery and hateful to die. :nolike:
Terry and Jo, ya'll are welcome anytime. Just give me a days notice to avoid drs. appts. Got 3 this week.

Thanks again folks,
Jim

Here, but occasionally There.
Jim,

We'll check in with you in a week or so. That should give you time for more healing and getting your rest. As you know, Eric (our youngest) had his surgery. After his rib was plated together and his doctor gave him clearance to go back to work, the told us to pack up and get out. He wanted his privacy and independence back again. At least he is now able to sleep in his bed instead of a recliner or on the couch. That after almost 2 years of couch and recliner. (Oh, and he said that if we have any reason to stay with him again, there ain't no way he's giving up his Select Comfort bed again. Only after the recovery was he able to sleep in it, and we helped him buy it about 2 years ago.)

Be sure to get a nice card and some goodies for the Code Blue team that broke your ribs because that shows they were doing it right so the shock could convert your rhythm. When you first learn CPR, it's hard to accept that ribs will likely break if you're doing it right.
