I just made chili today ,mine always consists of what ever is on hand. Today was 1lb mule deer venison, 1 dice onion,1 chopped bell pepper, can of Rotel, chili powder, garlic powder, paces picante sauce. 1 can of tomato sauce, Topped with colby jack cheese and sour cream. Not my best ,but pretty good for no planning and no going to the store.
PS no beans

Oh yeah, mom used to just buy small bags of fritos and dump chili and cheese in the bags.

That would be properly called a walking frito chili pie. [emoji16]
Food truck in town does similar with bags of Doritos. Dumps in taco ingredients and calls it a walking taco.

I make my own chili seasoning mix. Chili powder, cumin, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, crushed red pepper, powdered red pepper, salt, smoked paprika. You can basically look at the 2 alarm ingredients list for the recipe, you just have to figure out the proportions.

I use meat (chili ain't chili without meat), diced tomatoes, rotel, maybe some tomato sauce if needed, my seasoning mix, some real onion and drained black beans. Sometimes I assemble it all but the meat and onion in a porcelain dutch oven and make a big meat ball over the dutch oven on the Big Green Egg. Once the meat is done just crumble it up in the dutch oven with everything else below, stir and simmer a bit. This is one cook that mesquite is good in.

Eat with crackers, or over a plate of spaghetti with cheese and jalapenos with garlic toast.

They do the taco (taco-ish, it's kind of like chili) meat and cheese to make walking nachos at my kids' school for lunch. Not bad actually!

So darn windy and cold outback right now, I would take ANY chili, beans, no beans, beer, no beer.......

Is that Hulen S. Of Leticia? It feels amazeballs outside. Grass is still green enough to burn the fire pit. Of course, since Fall allergies are murder, the respirator doesn't allow much of that campfire smell to come through.

Chili does not have beans in it, yet beans should really have chili in them. Chili never met a tomato, but tomato stew really should have chili in it. Chili contains no vegetables other than peppers, but stew should definitely contain chili.

What he said..........
