public land for hogs? or private

Hello Looking for some places to go hunting that are on the east side of the state, would like to take a few hogs with out going to one of the hunting farms.

also any good information on getting started hog hunting locally , as I have never been on a hog hunt.

You can’t bait on public owned land like WMA’s. (Wildlife management area)
You can bait on private ground, so if you want to get into some your best bet would be to find a lease that would allow feeders.

Is there any map or any way to confirm hog populations at the wma ?

Oolagah has hogs. The guys I talk to that got draw hunts for deer end up seeing as many pigs.

Get a copy of the regs or go online. Start calling the WMA’s or game wardens for the county’s. They can lead you in the right direction

Yes. The area biologist in the link above.^^^ They can give you info in their region outside of the WMA's.

They just trapped around a 100 around Arcadia and NE.

Just make sure you got the right deer tag in your pocket and right method of taking this time of the year on public.
Personally I don't start hog hunting on public until after Jan 15th so I don't have to mess with the deer hunters.

They did two helicopter runs over the North end of Kaw lake over a month period and killed well over a hundred.

I agree with that , I am going to wait until after the holidays for the hogs.
