Blake711 comment: "You want bacon grease? You cook bacon. A pound of thick cut will get you probably 8-10 oz of grease and you get to eat the bacon. Then you put it in a cup and store in fridge."

Everyone is different, like packages of bacon are different in how much grease they melt off. My bacon grease never gets to the frig. it keeps well out ready to use. I use it in most everything I would use cooking oil or butter and frequently run out with a "balanced" for me diet. HaHa

I have a brisket in the smoker now, a little very very thin smear of my last bacon grease binds my rub on well.

Like the real "Pickle Juice" for leg cramps or getting overheated in the summer that I found bottled as a sports drink at Academy Sports to keep on hand for me and others if we get overheated in the summer, I will be making a trip to my "local" (30 miles away) Atwood's for back up bacon grease to have on hand when I run low.

I am realistic enough to realize it is "filtered" and will not have the little chunkles I have in my fancy grease can with what, 1/32 holes for a strainer, but am anxious to give it a try for a back up like I did with the dill pickle juice that is "real" and bottled water way more than years ago.

I am an old guy, can't imagine a SHTF situation and being able to make it very long without bacon grease, ya know. Might need to put some in the freezer with my peanut butter if times get really tough.

Thanks for posting, might pick up some ammo while I am there if the deal is still on. They do have some deals at times.

The only thing my wife has in larger supply that bacon grease is butter. That woman puts butter in or on everything she makes. Aldi had it $1.99 last week for 4 sticks. Limit 6 containers. I think she hit that sale a couple times as there is stacks of butter in the fridge and freezer. She does use a bunch through the holidays cooking but we are never out of butter ever.

.

If so.....guilty as charged. Granted, 1000 rounds of it is going to go to a friend of mine at cost. The rest is being added to the pile.

Is that High speed? At our store the only thing they had out was standard velocity. 1100 FPS.
I’m stocked deep anyway and have no use for standard velocity.

No, this is what happens when you have a herd of 22 rifles at home that are hungry and need feeding.

@thor447 that is a great start. I think that would qualify you as a Junior Neckbeard. Your not a full fledged neckbeard till you tripple your money off some unsuspecting fudd.
Ah, ok. Now I get it. I'm still an underclassman. I haven't sold any of it, aside from 1000k rounds to a friend at cost. I have a way to go before full fledged neckbeard-dom.

Have any of you guys shot this? I know @Cowcatcher shot some said it smelled funny. I figured that was just the jalapeno they put in it since it made south of the border. I haven't had a chance to shoot any yet. Wondering if its reliably cycles semi-autos.

I've used it before. Was reliable in a Malrin 60, a Steven's 87A, and a Ruger 10/22.
