This is my beloved .264. It got the nickname from my cousin, because from the first animal I shot with it (a fallow deer) everything has dropped like it was struck by the hand of God. One day I'll have the floor plate engraved with a hand coming out of the clouds.

This is how I bought it. Blah wood stock, and Leupold Vari-X II 3-9x40.

My brother bought the Leupold from me, and I bought a Nikon Monarch 4-12x40. By this point I had sanded down the cheek rest and coated the stock with bed liner.

It was like that for a couple years until I picked up an HS Precision stock.

And then a couple weeks ago I ordered some stainless Alumahyde II from Brownells and did everything but the bolt. I had Olyeller coat the bolt with some black Ceracoat.

I've also got a Pre-64 Westerner in .264 that I've been too lazy to find a good load for. I'd like to add one of the older Rugers to the collection, and if I get real lucky, maybe one of the Remington 700 that came out in the few years after the .264 came out, but before the 7mm Rem.

If work ever picks up again and I have some play money, I plan on having Lex Webernick build me a full custom in .264 as well.

Did you figure out the secret to curing alumahyde?? I want to try it but I don't want to jack it up. How tough is it after it's cured?
The secret is patience. It seems pretty tough, but takes about a month to cure.
