I'm looking at buying a new rifle for round balls. I have been really wanting a Pedersoli percussion with maple stock. However, at $1300 its hard for me to swallow. So, what about the Lyman Great Plains rifle? I know its only a walnut stock and isn't as accurate of a copy to the actual...
Ok, thanks! Im not real familiar with the area up there, but I will check it out. Do you happen to know if it is covered up with hunters for the archery season? Not that it matters, because its an option, but just curious.
I realize with todays times that it is extremely difficult to find places to hunt. However, I am looking for a place in the area of Cimarron County and that portion of Texas County west of State Highway 136 to archery antelope hunt. I doubt that it makes a difference, but if it does, it will...
After several years of trying, I finally drew McCurtain County black powder hunt. Anyone have any past experience on this hunt or just any tall tails about it?
I bet your right Dennis. I wouldnt dare take this out over my 22-250 or 204........unless I was going to the Waurike WMA. There it is RIMFIRE or SHOTGUN only. That would be the only situation this round will be in my pocket.
Saw a deal on another forum that had a link to Winchesters new 2013 rimfire. A .17 Win Super Magnum. Shoots a 20 or 25 grain bullet at over 3000 fps. They say it will be comparable to a centerfire! Anyways, a round like this will sure open up more hunting on areas that are open to rimfire...
I completely understand the fact of keeping a shotgun a shotgun. The only place these loads will be used is on the Waurika WMA. There it is either a rimfire or shotgun. I decided shotgun as there are so many thick, super thick places.
I have some Federal Wing-shok 3'' 1-7/8 #BB on their way. Is/has anyone shot these, and which choke works best? Im going to try my "dead coyote" choke, turkey choke, and full choke. Just trying to figure out what is working for you if your shooting these.
I see a big lawsuit in the future if someone starts flying over property and shooting hogs whether its the government or not. For example, I have a close friend that raises bucking stock. He has to feed them up for months before he can trap them in the lot by pulling a 100ft plus long rope...
I am going to plant wheat this year in a spot that I have always wanted to plant. It is a funnel between two creeks. My grandparents had wheat on it about 20 years ago when they had a dairy. Now.....The soil PH should be decent. It is rich loamy type soil. What are the odds of it growing...
Wow.....what a ton of info! I think I may go the glock route until I decide if Im dedicated to spend a crap ton. Another question is I noticed not springfield guns were brought up. I have an xd 4''. Would I be better off just buying a glock or trying to buy a barrel/slide along with the...
