03 C&R FFL CLEO notification?

Hi folks,

I'm looking into getting a C&R FFL. The forms say I need to to notify the chief of the local PD/sheriff etc. Since I live in the City of Norman I am assuming this should be addressed to the Chief of the Norman PD.

Or should I send this to the Cleveland County Sheriff?

I'm assuming this should go to NPD as if I were to call 911 NPD would be the responding agency...

I sent mine to Sheriff Joe Lester of the cleveland county sheriffs department.

I sent mine to the Chief of Police in Yukon.

I would send it to the Sheriff, but it can go to either of them. Chief of Police or Sheriff.

Thanks folks. I went ahead and mailed the forms to the ATF and Norman PD.

Does notify mean you just need to mail it to them?

Correct. I dropped mine off when I got my prints done.

since you live in city limits it should go to chief of norman PD. It requires no action on their part but per ATF regs you have to give them a copy.
