10-22 = Great shooter
15-22 = Cool looking hunk of plastic

I'm a S&W fan, but the 15-22 just isn't made to the same standards as other S&Ws of the past. It's essentially the Sig Mosquito of S&W.

10/22 .When I was teaching my son to shoot I would give him 3 rounds to load at a time & encourage him to make all 3 count before he had to load 3 more .

Next time out we moved up to 5 rounds . That worked out great for months, till he looked over & saw someone else loading their mag. And he asked how many does the mag hold BUSTED but by then he knew better than to just wank on the trigger.

I still don't have any hi cap mags .. I've had mine since 1976 my high school grad. year.

I'd like to know what's the scoop on the new style 10/22s. If I recall, Ruger made some manufacturing changes a couple of years ago. Polymer trigger guard replacing metal -- stuff like that.

Is the design still sound? What do users think of the changes?
