^^Amazon has the book for sale and readily available. I plan on reading it soon. I've read Selco's depiction of SHTF and can't wait to hear Ferfal's. That Preper Expo. sounds like a good time. Wish I could have made that.

There's no reason to buy sea salt when you can get naturally iodized salt here ...

I beg to differ. You buy sea salt for canning and for meat preservation, you do not want to use salts with iodine when doing either of those. If you look at a box of expensive canning salt, it is nothing but natural sea Salt. Salt will also be a great barter item, especially for those two reasons. I do store regular table salt, but the bulk of my stores is natural Atlantic Sea Salt. Don't buy anything coming out of the Pacific ocean these days, fish or anything.

I choose to get my iodine in my herbs and food and hold off on the salt intake. We as a nation have epidemic levels of shortness in certain vitamins and minerals in our diet. Taking synthetic replicators of these work to a certain point, but like with most other drugs, they have harmful side effects or can cause the body so shut down it's natural production and utilization of vitamins and minerals. One of the biggest problems people have to day is a lack of vitamin D. Without proper levels of D, you body cannot utilize many of the other vitamins we are taking. It is all about creating balance in the body.

I have worked with a natural doctor for over 20 years who studied Chinese herbal medicines for 28 years, along with very knowledgeable people with both herbs and essential oils. I had a 2 hour meeting a month ago with a local master herbalist to have her make suggestions on the protocol I have been working with lately. I have been working with my hypertension as well as my wife's MS and Hypothyroid condition very successfully for over 2 years. Neither of us are on any kind of pharmaceuticals for these conditions. We are both in our late 50's and are extremely active. Neither of us has had even as much as a common cold in the past 2 years, going on our third right now. I am a Young Living distributor, but don't push the business side of the oils I don't care for multilevel marketing businesses. We both inhale Peppermint oil, Thieves and RC several times a day this time of year. I also put a drop of each (not RC) in my herbal tea I drink each day. These are great at fighting off the cold and flu bugs. I use other brand so of oils for aches and pains, but only use YL therapeutic grade oils where I take it internally.

I have a large larder of cut and powdered herbs, over 60 different ones, as well as dozens of bottles of YL essential oils. These along with a large library of books on the subject. I am no doctor of specialist of any kind, but do have a hands on working knowledge in this area. Herbs are nothing more than food, Tinctures are concentrated herbs. Essential oils are basically highly concentrated herbs. None of these are toxic. They are all derived from plants, not synthetic materials. I have never heard of a person overdosing from herbs. Oils you need to be more careful of. A single drop of essential oil can be be very effective. They have a very long shelf life too. What I don't know, I know who to call and find out.

I beg to differ.

Pardon me ... I meant for consumption, not for medicinal or preservation uses ... I prefer to get my vitamin and minerals from as natural and as close to home sources as I can.

You've shared more general knowledge, that gives folks a place to start looking if they are interested in learning more, in that one post than you have in all the rest of your posts put together here. Thank you for sharing.
