There are some Ks deer hunter that aren’t going to like this date change.

Well, they can stick to hunting their state. It will make rifle season interesting for some as it'll be a very late gun season compared to this past season. As I'm primarily a bow hunter, I'm good with it.

Gun dates are controlled by the rule of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is always the 4th Thursday in November with some exceptions as defined by googlenet. This year Thanksgiving falls on the 28th. I guess the earliest it could fall would be the 22nd. Quite a significant swing on catching the back end of the rut. I Gun and half ass muzzle hunt but primarily I am a recurve hunter and focus on the first 3 weeks of November.

KS gun always starts the Wednesday after Thanksgiving and runs for 12 days.

I am personally excited to hunt later rifle season! This will allow for some more consistency when hunting open fields in the evening. Wheat fields especially!
