First if you are using his site to find these deals. Know he is making money off the links he is providing more than likely. Second if stuff is selling out in 1 minute he is helping that also. Is it really a big deal with ammoseek and others. Maybe maybe not, just be aware.

As for if we are going to have another longterm shortage. I hope we aren't but its very likely. I have heard or read multiple FFLs saying all distributors are empty last few days of 22LR. That sucks.

I was talking to @Cowcatcher the other day about they should still have capacity they can bring online after the last scare and ramp up to 7-24 again quickly. He had a great point. Basically If ammo manufactures didn't see this year coming with an election year and possibilities of dims taking over and who knows what else including natural disasters. They should have already had them factories running full tilt. I agreed their parking lots should have looked like Wal-Mart at Christmas with Shipping containers everywhere full of ammo just waiting to drop it on the market when an event like this happened. Lets hope this virus deal gets sorted quickly and people calm back down quickly.

You would think the gun community would have learned from the last 2-3 ammo shortages.

Whether a natural disaster, school/church shooting or the results of an election we have these periodic interruptions in supply. I thought that is what they made those metal military ammo boxes for. i call them election over ride boxes.

Everyone should have a supply (whatever that means to you) put up in ammo boxes in a climate controlled place. You will be amazed how many rounds of 22lr will fit in a standard military issue ammo box and they stack nicely.

A wise man said “when times are good prepare for bad times”.

I reload so I make everything I shoot except 22 lr. I have primers, bullets and power to keep shooting at my current level for a long time.

This is news why? 22LR is always the first thing to disappear during a supply shortage and the last ammo item to become readily available again. Any serious 22 shooter should keep 10000 rounds on hand at all times. I have largely stopped shooting rimfire because of the frequent supply supply shortages. Also, if one spends a bit of money to get set up to cast their own bullets, pretty much any pistol rounds can be reloaded for around the same price as 22s. I find centerfire to be much more fun to shoot anyway.

I recently bought a year range membership so about 3 weeks ago I picked up quite a bit of 22 ammo.I much prefer to shoot the 9mm but if I run out at least I will have some 22 to tide me over.A few weeks after Sandy hook Sportsworld and Dongs were charging close to $7.00 for a 50 round box of 22s and were getting cleaned out.

I still wonder if guy in the first video is correct in that places have to retool for each round. Here is CCI showing 22lr process. I would think 22lr has its own dedicated lines. I can see retooling switching from items that sell less like 44mag to 357mag and such. But the main stuff .223, 22lr, 9mm and 45 acp. I am betting those lines don't get messed with.
