Too much 25-06 available at reasonable prices to mess with case forming. It's a PITA and the only reason I would do it is for some sort of wildcat that commercial cases can't be found for. 25-06 was a wildcat for a long time, but it was commercialized in 1969.

I shoot a lot of 25-06. You're gonna like it.

30-06 to 25-06 might be quite a bit but 270 shouldn't be that big of a deal. I convert in small batches 308 to 243. below is a small video. I just use a standard FL die and take it really easy and short strokes. It can be done in one stroke but some brass can kinda spring back if it has been fired before. You might want to anneal the necks after and watch the neck tension because it will be thicker then factory brass. Re work up you load especially if it is hot.

Sell the 270 brass if you don't need it and go buy a bag of 25-06 brass. Necking down can cause extra neck thickness that will create undue pressures. Besides abag of brass is only about $25/50pcs. Do it right, and not worry about mixing up rounds if you still shoot a 270.

I went the other way the other day. I went thru sizing all of my 30-06 brass (stuff i have shot before and some once fired i bought) came to about 500 pieces. One of them when i run it up in the FL sizer was a bit tougher. Though may of not got a good lubing but turns out was a .270 case mixed in. I didnt measure it yet but eye balled it and set it aside. All looked ok. Never had done that and glad i didnt end up with a stuck case.
