2nd Amendment in Action: Paraplegic Homeowner Kills Shotgun-Wielding Inturder
July 23, 2012
By Robert Gillock - Web News Editor

Police say a 27-year-old man who broke into a Johnstown home early Sunday was looking for guns when the paraplegic homeowner shot and killed him.

Brian Dyer, of Johnstown, entered the Sunset Drive home through an unlocked door wearing a ski mask, took a shotgun from a bedroom and used it to poke and wake up the homeowner asleep on a couch in a den, Johnstown Police Chief Don Corbin said Monday.

Dyer demanded the location of more guns, which the homeowner told him while pushing the shotgun aside. The man then opened fire with a handgun he kept by his bed, Corbin said. Dyer died at the scene.

Police are investigating how Dyer knew guns were in the house.

Corbin does not intend to charge the homeowner, but will present the case to the Licking County Prosecutor’s Office once the investigation is complete.

Authorities were called to the scene at 2:21 a.m. Sunday.

Does it not bother anyone else that they are going to even present this?

the paraplegic awoke to a masked man pointing a shotgun at Mutter’s head at 2:15 a.m.

Paraplegic : a person who has paraplegia (is paralyzed from the waist down).

They say you should let them just walk in and steal whatever they want and you are basically required to just run away. What options did that man truly have that wouldn't have resulted in his probable death?
I think that man is awesome for making sure he had a means of defense with him so accessible.

Side note. I hate how the media always posts the address of the victim.
