I have a PSA 300bo upper, shoots great. I have not had any issues with anything from PSA in 5.56, 9mm and 300. They do have lesser grades of barrels but the chf stuff is made by FN in S.C..
Am planning on trading a Bear Creek Arsenal 300 Blackout upper for a 5.56/.223 so I don’t have to bring in a new caliber. Even thought about 7.62x39. Is it worth keeping the 300blk? I could just purchase a barrel.
I have a PSA 8.5” pistol gas barrel in mine. Only complaint I have is the weight.
Not yet, but it’s on the way. Just ordered a PSA 8.5” .300BLK kit with shockwave brace. Got everything on a Daily Deal sale and with a Mad Dog Mattis lower, Holosun red dot with riser and 200 rounds of premium Sig defense/hunting ammo, it was $668.87 delivered. Figured at that price I couldn’t go wrong.
Brownell’s still has that Faxon 7.5” Gunner profile barrel for $129.99. That’s the lightest profile .300BLK barrel I’ve seen for sale.
I wish the did that profile in a 8.5-9” barrel. I want an Omega 9k, and the min barrel length is 8”.
CMMG has an 8” light profile barrel that is only .7 oz heavier than the faxon.
I have one that I built, and with subsonic ammo & a can it's fun. Plus you can have it loaded in the car for hunting.
Don't know if you're still looking, but I just found out that Faxon does have a 9" barrel in that light profile now, and it's 5R button rifled!
