I have been using winchester 231 for a while now and would like to try something different. Only complaint with the 231 is that it seems to be pretty smoky and dirty. Just curious what others are using, and if its any cleaner. Using 165gr fmj bullets.
Winchester WST, is what a lot of competitive shooters use.
Cleanest 40 powder I've ever used is N320.
I shot up 24 lbs. of Solo 1000 with decent results and am presently using Titegroup with very good results.
All of these are quick powders, work your loads up.

I use WST for 9mm and 40 cal. A lot of the people I shoot with also use it.
Reloading data on WST says it is unsafe for 40 caliber. I have never seen anyone local have pressure issues with WST in 40 cal. Just work up and use common sense.
