Did some loading yesterday and today. Hornady 300 grain HP and a special blend of Varget and IMR 4198. Don’t panic, my special blend is the 25 on the left have 58 grains of Varget, the 25 on the right have 54.5 grains of IMR 4198. Just don’t know when I get to shoot them, tore a rotator cuff about a month ago, not sure my shoulder is ready for 35+ ft/lbs of recoil.

My trick for 4570 and “polite” recoil is 14.5grs of unique under a 405gr cast!

However, depending what your velocity is, I did ballistic gel test those 300gr Hornady HPs. So if ya look around the ammo section you can find my gel results if you have an interest in it!

That’s a devastating result!!
If you want some black powder loads to test I can send you some 480 grain cast and some 500 grain cast loads. They’re for my H&R Buff Classic, too long to work in a Marlin unless you hand feed one at a time. Once chambered the only way to get them out is to pull the trigger.

I’ve got a tray of loads with 14gr of unique on the bench. I need to get out and try them. I think they are 325 gr boolits though

I’ve tried the same charge with 300-410gr loads and they all work great. If you plan to hunt with th 4570, but need milder recoil, I highly recommend the 410gr subx Projos. I load them with 14.5 of unique and they are in the 1000 fps range. Performance in gel was both impressive, and entirely unexpected. Perfect expansion and penetration. (I have those gel results on here as well). Not that I hunt deer with subsonic Rounds, but if I needed to, I wouldn’t hesitate to use the 410 subx I handload
