Polymer lowers are prone to fail. Polymer might be stronger than aluminum, but not in the same dimensions.

I have done a lot of looking around and can't find that much on failures with polly ( most of them where in the build process and normally in the buffer tube area but that has since been compensated for.), I have seen many alum failures on the net though.
I don't plan to make this a "go to" gun.. just looking to have some fun doing my own build... will most likely make it a .22 anyway or maybe not.

I run an ATI omni ploy lower in a 5.56 setup. Never had a problem or failure and I have thousands of rounds through it.

Ya I'm in the why category. If the spaghetti hits the fan the last thing I gonna be doin is breaking out the drill press to build up an untraceable m16(and I mean m16)
