At least the LEO said it was not a priority issue.

"But New York State Police spokesman Beau Duffy argues that concern about this gun database has been overblown. He said felony charges are off the table for now. “We’re not going to take criminal enforcement action, particularly with those people who were unaware of this re-certification process,” Duffy said."

Those 81,000 just joined the ranks of the...I don't know...500,000+ criminals in New York who just laughed at registering their guns in the first place.

Hey! Since Cuomo has gone on record asking businesses to hire more criminals, (ya know, since 1 in every 3 Americans have a criminal record. A BS statistic) these people have more job opportunities now!

A person walking down the street in New York is more likely to be a felon than not, already. And not just the convicted ones, either. I'd be surprised if the average New Yorker didn't commit a felony offense once or twice a year.
