I think another thing that factors in is whether there is a finite window on certain purchases.
If high capacity magazines go away, then I can totally understand the speed at which prices increase. People feel like they have weeks to make their desired purchases, after which they won't be able to buy those mags. At that point it's a very finite quantity of products with a very small purchasing window. I get that, I don't like it, but it's just supply and demand.
Now what I DO think is gouging, is creating artificial demand. People who stockpile things that won't be disappearing (like .22 ammo) and thus creating an unwarranted shortage, and higher prices. To certain extent I feel that's somewhat true for .223 and 7.62 x 39. What might be going away is cheap imported ammo like Tula, but if your paying way more then it's value and in many cases more then the domestic ammo prices for it, what's the point? You could just buy the domestic for LESS in the future then what I've seen some people pay for now for the "cheap" imported ammo.

Me either. I absolutely refuse to pay these prices also. However, I'm not one of these people that believes there should be a set price ceiling that people can charge for their product. If someone thinks these prices are unfair and then buys it anyway, they are an idiot.
Mine and Cues whole point is this. Wanna price gouge? Fine, do it someplace else. Wanna campout at Academy or Walmart, buy up inventory just to flip it? Fine, do it someplace else.
Are we or are we not a community here that shares a place to come to for people that love guns, supports the 2A and shares info and comraderie?
If OSA is not that place and its just a talkie armslist I'm out.
This gun community is suppose to help and support each member, not exploit each others weakness to gain temporary materialism.

Price. A fair price. That's not what you say it is, and it's not what I say it is... It's what the market will bear. Now there's people - and I know 'em - who'll pay a lot more than $25,000 for a healthy baby. Why, I myself fetched $30,000 on the black market. And that was in 1954 dollars.
Personally, I'd hate for OSA to be used as a conduit for those people who are not contributing members to only make a quick buck. At the same time though, most of us are lovers of freedom and a free market. The root problem here isn't how the market has reacted, its the whole issue of the VERY REAL threat to our freedoms. Take all of the energy you have stored up hating the price increases and dump it on the politicians who are artificially causing this mess.

BTW...I'm a student and thus I am not in the middle to low income crowd...I am much farther down. I receive no paycheck, yet piles of bills that must be paid. Thankfully my wife still has a job and we manage to save enough when I do have the opportunity to work to supplement her income to cover our montly expenses.
