Any more updates on the oil spill?

Its going slow for several reasons. Main reason is because it's too wet to get equipment in there to scrape the surface dirt and clumps of crude up. They did come this morning and remove 100 or so yards of barbed wire fence that was covered in grass from the flood waters that had oil coating it, but the heavy rains today prevented any more work. You can see the fence that was removed in the background of the first pic.
The BIA rep out of Tulsa called yesterday. We discussed some issues and a big concern was there was no containment boom down stream where water is still flowing across the property and eventually to the Arkansas river about 1/4 mile away to contain the sheen of lighter crude that is coming from the clumps. He had no answer.
The remediation team has 30 days to complete the cleanup, but I'm betting with all this rain that is going to continue into next week it will be extended.

This is the pump that basically caused it all and ran underwater for 6 days.

Breaker still energized!

You can see where the crude ran out of the overflow because the pumper never shut down the battery.
Everything coated in absorbent
