Maliki finally relented and allowed a cargo plane loaded with ammo to resupply the Kurds. First thing he's done to help them the whole war and I would bet he gritted his teeth while doing it.

I strongly suspect he was coerced into doing it.
Kurds is the only Army he has left. If I were the Kurds id defend my area and let the rest of Iraq fall to ISIS.

Iraqis elected a new president and he appointed a new prime minister as Malikis term expires.
Maliki is contesting the selection and deployed troops loyal to Maliki in key areas of Baghdad threatening a possible coup.
They are too busy fighting amongst themselves to wage warfare against ISIL.

Yeah, there's so much about this conflict that the American people just don't know and probably never will. While it's heartbreaking to see old women and children suffering on a mountain top, There is nothing that we can do in that theater that will make ANY difference in the long run. We will NEVER be able to send any sort of message to these people. They either hate us but put up with us, or hate us and want to kill us. No one in the middle east has any respect for America. They want guns, ammo, artillery, money. . . oh, and for all Americans to *poof* disappear off the face of the planet.
Nation building works but only if you scorch the Earth first. We would have to bring the entire Middle East to her knees.
Also it would be possible if we took out the other "Big Boy" who has been supplying them.
Maybe its time for the World to get shaken up again.
