If they DOT continues with this stupid crap there won't be a truck on the road between the hours of 5am Saturdays and 5am Sundays.

In 2003 I could move a load of haz-mat from Houston to OKC or Tulsa for $350, between fuel, haz-mat driver background checks, guberment regs and an aging driving force it now cost $1250 to move that same load. Guess who is actually pay that additional .03 per pound?

So if drivers can drive less hours does that mean more drivers will be needed? Will it be like job splitting to provide more positions for the soon to be new workers? What effect did letting Mexican trucks come a couple of years ago have on the trucking industry?
