Picked up a Mossberg 590 yesterday. First pump shotgun. Overall I love it but the length of pull is about an inch too long for me. Best way to shorten it?
How thick is the recoil pad? That is the first place to start and cheapest.

That’s what I was thinking too. Just about an inch. I tried searching for a thinner pad but couldn’t find one. I’ll look further to see if anyone makes one.

Depending on your 'style', you might also look at some tactical stocks which are adjustable. The 590 is a great gun and can be customized in many different ways --- the rabbit hole is your friend!
That’s definitely thinner but not by much. Thanks though. I’ll keep looking for a better option. If I can’t find one I’ll get the one you linked. Something is better than nothing.

I prefer the oem stock but function trumps style so if I can’t find a shorter pad a stock change might be in order just to get it to the correct LOP.
