I've thought of custom grips, but $$$$.Cant help you there, anything that I mighta got with Pachmayr, the Pachmayrs got removed (quickly) and put in the for sale bin.
Sounds like you might need something custom!
Or sell that ruger and get the smith with some nice original wood target stocks.
I know I know, everyone says the ruger is stronger, but the trigger on the smith outclasses the ruger
As for the trigger, well... It's damned difficult to beat a SW for a clean trigger break, especially one that has been smoothed.
I've done some work on the Redhawk, and it's got a good trigger - at least single action. Not as clean as a well-done Smith, but good, and much better than the factory abomination.
Very few people shoot heavy 44 Mag loads in double action, I don't either. I'm not real concerned with the DA trigger on the Redhawk.
Come to that, my days of shooting a bunch of heavy 44 Mag is past me. I'll shoot some, maybe 2 or 3 cylinders, but then it's back to something a bit less stressful.
