very sweet. Grips are fantastic!New part for an old piece. This 686-4 has kind of been a project piece. Yesterday I managed to fit a new cylinder to it. I like the un-fluted look and the extra round is a nice addition.

They're made by a fellow named Ken Driskill. He goes by bigmtnman on the Smith & Wesson forum. He posts them for sale regularly in the classifieds there.Where did you get the grips?
Very Nice. I love the older Taurus Revolvers. Allot of bang for the buck. I like the wood grips too,A(nother) Taurus 431 wandered into my life the other day. 5 shot 44 Spl, K-frame size.
Made in the early 1990s, the last years of the very nice bluing from Taurus. It's a well-constructed piece of machinery.
It came with these YUGE rubber grip, which I don't much like-

Much better.
I love these revolvers. Folks are figuring out what they are, and the price is rising. I kind of sneaked up on this one, got a good deal.
