If you have or still do what was your experience? Recipie? In the interest of using one powder for my two rifle loads (30-06 for Garand and .223 for AR and Mini). The H4895 is the best load for the Garand but I have heard good things about this powder for .223. So all let me know good or bad...Thanks.

I donot have a rifle in 223 but my Remington 40X in 222 Remington came from the factory with a target using IMR-4895. That is the only powder I use in my 222 Remington.

i've tried 24 gr and 24.5 grain with equal results. i was using a single shot rossi to work up a load, so no experience with the ar yet.

I have used it. It is dirty and does not measure well in the dillon powder measure. It is a good load for bolt action. I am currently using TAC but I mostly load 77gr Sierra for ARs.

Do a search on Hodgon web site H 4895 is listed for both .223 & 30-06 . I use Varget & Benchmark in both .223 & .308 ,these powders are also listed for 30-06.

The Hornady 7th shows IMR4895 loads in their "normal" data for all bullets up to and including 55 grains.

They have an IMR4895 load in their service rifle data, for 68 grain bullet and a H4895 load for the 75 grain. This service rifle data only covers 68 & 75 grain bullets.
