Ruger American Gen 2 worth it?

Hello all, I’m looking at buying another rifle that will mainly be used for deer. The new Ruger Gen 2 caught my eye, especially in 7mm-08. I’m not opposed to other cartridges, but I have heard good things about the 7-08. Looking for anyone’s experience with these. I would like a rifle that is threaded and that is in the 800$ range or below. Thanks.

Yes, the Ruger American Gen 2.. I guess I forgot to add that part by accident. But right now they are listed in the 600-650$ dollar range new. My budget for a rifle is 800$. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with other the new model. I’m open to all makes and model suggestions!

Saw them on the shelf for 589 in Tulsa. Didn't pay too much attention to calibers. Most likely 223, x39, 300 BO.

thaHooligan recently reviewed both the CZ Alpha 600 and the Ruger Gen 2 in 7.62x39. Personally he preferred the CZ to the Ruger primarily because of the better trigger on the CZ.

I have thought about those too. They seem to be pretty good for the price
