Anyone remove the restrictor on Merc 4-stroke?

Not sure on these newer ones if the CPU can compensate and send more fuel to avoid running lean? Supposedly, the 4cyl 40-60hp outboards are the same except restrictor ring and tune. Mine's a 50 and I'd like to gain more if I can (the 60 has no restrictor, the 40 has the largest one).

Since this is outboard motor/bass boat related I figured the fishing forum was appropriate.

Looks like you need the different computer or it will be lean on the top end.

Or stick carburetors on it. I like carbs.
