Cool.Well, it might be a while. I have everything I need, maybe need to get a more sensitive scale. But I haven’t reloaded anything in any caliber yet. Need to learn more of what I’m doing when I get some time. I’ll be sure to let you guys know when I start.
It was $122 for the dies, and $70 per 200 bullets/primed cases, so all in I’m looking at $.65 per round. Without factoring in die cost I’m looking at $.35 per round. With a max load of 2.9 grains I would say the cost of powder is negligible. If broken down it comes out to $.013 cents per round.Cool.
Kinda curious about the cost per round...?
What powder are you planning on using?
If you’re able to produce “premium” ammo, the price isn’t horrible, but if you’re only turning out “standard” quality ammo, it’s still a cool project but hardly seems worth it.It was $122 for the dies, and $70 per 200 bullets/primed cases, so all in I’m looking at $.65 per round. In comparison, prepanic pricing on lapua Midas X was $.34 per round.
That was my thought. I wanted to try for the novelty first and foremost, but it does sound promising. To be completely honest I get great results from low grade match ammo as it is, and I don’t see myself shooting large quantities of this stuff anyway. But who knows, that might change. If you’re able to produce “premium” ammo, the price isn’t horrible, but if you’re only turning out “standard” quality ammo, it’s still a cool project but hardly seems worth it.
I have the ability to load for A BUNCH of calibers, but I only currently load for 270 Win, 308, 9.3x62, and 9.3x74r. My loads for those calibers are far superior to any factory ammo I’ve tried.
