I was planning on getting into some varmint shooting and I have heard that there are certain barrel and bullet combinations that ork best together so here is my setup. I have a 20" 1 in 9 twist and I was wondering what bullet weight I should choose for this combination for the best long distance accuracy.

Not yet! But I will be getting a press and extras for christmas. I was planning on shooting up to 250 yards at some p dogs and other varmint game.
It might be more of a matter of what you can find. Personally, I would try a little target shooting with the cheapest soft point or hollow point I could find.

Ol Yeller suggested 40gr to 50gr and those would be a good place to start.
I also routinely shoot 55gr bullets in ARs with 1-9 twist barrels.

At under 150 yds. 55g. and under are the most accurate as the 62g. need that 150 yd. distance to stabilize properly and, thus, are more accurate at longer ranges.

That (62gr) seems like the maximum bullet weight that will stabilize with a 1-9 twist.
For heavier bullets, suggest 1-8 or 1-7 barrels.

68s/69s work well with 1/9. Sometimes 77s/75s will run out of a 1/9, but it's a case by case basis.
