AR pistol mount for trunk?

I've been tossing around the idea of carrying an ar pistol in my trunk just in case we have one of those SHTF days.. Yes, I have my CC so I don't think there is an issue with that, but I was wondering if other members have ideas or what/how you'd typically carry in your vehicle? A fixed carry mount, or a case?

I’ve been considering bolting a case inside the trunk of my car but haven’t found one that is the size I’d need yet. My best idea is to find a good fab shop and have a steel locking box built and mounted in the trunk.

Get a used AR-15 mount that's a take-out from a police car. They can be shortened and/or adjusted almost infinitely. You should be able to pick one up cheap at any of the places that upfit police cars in Tulsa or OKC. They hard mount and have an electric lock you can wire to a hidden switch.
