Can you talk to the astronauts with your cell or GPS???

Cell probably not.
I do not know enough about GPS that’s satellite operated to use it.
This is why I’m asking ALOT of questions that you’re avoiding.

You can. We have a kid out in McCloud with a hand held and a Yagi antenna that checks in to the OKC 650 repeater on occasion.

Way back in the 1960's a pair of Ham radio operators actually intercepted the panicked calls for help of a Russian Cosmonaut before he died in space. Normally I do not capitalize russia or russian however the dead pioneer deserves our respect.
