I have been loading the tsx bullets in my nephews 223 and 22-250. They went from having low success on recovering deer, to massive blood trails and high rate of recovery.

More than likely, the dirt wasn't a good test medium.

Exactly. This is not a scientific explanation, just my own words and observation. But a bullet needs a medium that is "wet" to produce a hydraulic effect for expansion. You get better expansion in wet phone books than dry ones. Better expansion in tissue than a tree.

This is the only bullet recovered from Africa trip. Impala at 150 yds. Penetrated from chest to hindquarter. 180 gr. TTSX @ 2650fps.
