They will also freeze any and all money he has in paypal and hold it until it is resolved if you can prove that it is stolen. Generally they have to list a vin number, if you fax a copy of the title he will be SOL on getting any money from anything. When they freeze an account it's pretty well a done deal.

Thanks for the comments folks.
The frame and wheels are long gone.
The rest of the bike, plastics, carbon fiber parts, etc, have been recovered.

The lesson from this is, if you steal something just sell it in the next town.
The police departments REFUSE to get involved.

My son and some "friends" took care it themselves.
