I just picked mine up and the reason I want the new barrel is because mine is separating like you mentioned. Mine was made in 1988 and, aside from the barrel, is actually in really good shape. I placed my order with bar-sto yesterday and am excited for the new barrel however it is going to take 18 to 22 weeks to get it which kinda sucks but ohh well.

Did you go with a semi drop in or a MT?

I'm a proponent of the semi's in polymer frame guns like Glocks, but the BHP to seems to be a gun that deserves a hard fit barrel. A lot depends on what you want to do with it. If you want to shoot 800 rounds between cleanings, stick with the semi. If you're going to be using quality components, clean regularly and have the skill to shoot it to it's potential, go with the fitted barrel.
