ok what about a private university that prevents guns on campus? i'm waiting for my CCW and planned on keeping it in the car but was curious. since its private cant they make their own rules?

their rules cant and dont trump state law

As I understand it, it is illegal to carry on the property of ANY school or university, public or private. With the exceptions listed on the SDA of course.
