Well, like Hugo Chavez of Venezuela, Nelson Mandela was a democratic socialist. In addition, he was personal friends with Fidel Castro of Cuba and Muammar Gaddafi of Libya. He hated capitalism and individuals owning land. He supported the govt owning all banks, land and gold mines. He was a strong supporter of nationalized health care and equal distribution of wealth. Heavily influenced by Marxism and communism, he claimed to be a Christian. Among many other awards, he was a recipient of the Nobel Piece Prize. With so many similarities to your current president, it's no wonder the lame-stream-media is in love with him.
