WAGONER COUNTY, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Chouteau man suffered head and body injuries after he hit a mailbox while hanging out a window of a moving vehicle Wednesday evening.
The OHP says the incident occurred on Wagoner County road 320 northeast of Wagoner at about 8 p.m.
Troopers said Brandon Rodgers, 23, was vomiting as he leaned out the window and struck the mailbox.
The OHP says the unidentified driver stayed at the scene until fire and medical personnel arrived then drove away before troopers arrived.
Rodgers was first taken to a Muskogee hospital then transferred to a Tulsa hospital, where OHP says he was listed in serious condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
