I have a shooting chrony its really basic but i get very few errors with it pretty cheap on eBay usually in the 50 buck range. the lab radar is great but more than I wanted to pay.
I've been using a shooting chrony for many years. About 5 years ago, bought I think it was a mag tech because it would work with a corded screen to show speed results on the bench. Side by side they both agreed on shot speed. Let a new guy at the range try his load through it. Afterward we talked, and he left. Never got his name.
It never worked after that. Went to look and there was a streak across the screen where a bullet creased it. Junk now.
I've also got a Shooting Chrony, the Beta Master model. Good reliable device and they were inexpensive but I don't think they are in production any more.
I've got a magnetospeed and a labradar. Certain situations the labradar is great, but if your range has a low baffle, there's a good chance it won't work. The magnetospeed is the one I recommend most often and it's a great piece of equipment.
