[Lessons for Obama in 2012
Carter's poor debate performance, troubles in Iran, Afghanistan, and high gas prices, and overconfidence did him in. All Obama lacks is that poor debate performance, for now. So Democrats would do well to remember the lessons of the 1980 election, unless they want Obama to have an early retirement party.]

He'll need more than a poor debate to lose to Romney, Santorum, or Newt - now if Paul actually made it past the media hype and got to go head to head with Obama, it would be a thing of beauty.

Nope, he will win in 2012. In 1980, the Republicans had a great candidate. Reagan inspired Americans and although a deeply religious man, was not an extremist zealot. The Republicans have turned from a party of small government into a party intruding into our lives. Just as bad as the democrats.
