dallas traffic tips?

makin a trip to houston tomorrow. could leave at 230pm ish, but i am afraid that will put me in the big D at rush hour...(rush hour is typically like 25 hrs a day there right, so it dont really matter?)

maybe i will plan on stoppin and gettin some din din in north dallas, and let the bs subside a bit?

any suggestions would be appreciated!

Dallas/Fort Worth is always in "rush hour".Go around it if possible.I went through at 2400 hrs. one time and it was bumper to bumper.

When you get to the Dallas--Ft. Worth split near Denton, go through Ft. Worth via I35W. It won't help a lot, but it will help a little.

I always went to Houston down the Indian Nation Turnpike. We went through Paris, Mount Pleasant, Longview, Nacodoches, and Lufkin. It wasn't a bad trip that way and no Dallas traffic. It took about 9 hours going that way.

I never have a problem. Just drive a 3/4ton or larger truck and ignore your brake pedal. I never drive past Dallas without stopping in Deep Ellum.

2am is a good time. . .we went through there on the way back from Austin. Cruise set on 80mph and never touched the brake.

Not that big of a deal. Yeah there is traffic but it moves pretty well but DO NOT hit the Mixmaster at rush hour. You will be sorely disappointed.

I went through Dallas and Houston on my crotch rocket on my way to Galveston on a ride last month,It was bumper to bumper at 85mph at 9pm on a Thursday. Haul ass and dont look back lol

I always take 35W. I'd be more concerned about Houston traffic. YMMV. Literally.
