On a Sierra .308 168 grain HPBT, is there any reason to put a crimp on this round? I'm thinking not but I just wanted to check. Thanks
If you have good neck tension on the bullet then there is no need for a crimp on 308 fired in a bolt gun, in semiauto a light crimp may be needed. If you crimp, trim all cases to the same length first.

I did some looking into this for reloads in my M1A, most of the match shooters seem to say no crimps. I crimp my plinking ammo, (fmj's with a cannelure) but will be leaving my match ammo un crimped.
