Does the S/N of the can have to be in the trust?

    Or can I just name it by make/model in the assets section of the trust paperwork?

    by make/model or specifically by serial number?

    I always put the make, model and serial number on the schedule A.

    Make and model don't have much to do with your NFA item except as a secondary identifer.
    All NFA items are identified by serial number and registered owners name.
    Make and model are only used to confirm the particular item when more than 2 have the same serial number.
    So, Yes its important to have the serial number listed in the trust assets.
