Dove 14'

Went on an evening hunt with Deerslayer. Wind was brisk, but not a lot of dust blowing.

We ended up with 13 between us.

My first dove hunt with a SXS muzzleloader shotgun.

I loved it! I can claim 3 1/2 birds with it, before getting distracted, and noticing the witness mark on the ramrod was high. Felt wads turned sideways? Don't know. Put it up for later work to remove the load and went to another SG.

We got there late, moving lots of birds as we walked in.

I'll be back at daylight.

We got out late this evening two hours before sunset and worked the riverbed full of sunflowers.

Ended up with six mournings. Wind played hell getting dialed in. and the dove were moving at mach 3 is seemed.

I drove out to my son's land this PM, just north of Valliant. Didn't see a single bird.

Nope! When I was at the academy in tulsa yesterday, they had the improved Rem #10's. 40% more power.

Instant ignition. Still had to squeeze them for a sure fit on the nipple. No biggie.

She's mega competitive.......and there was a lot of missing going on...........so I was just coaching tonight

Good job Okie and daughter! And congrats on your rain! Few birds to had down here in the SE. Went out to the ranch yesterday and hunted the roads. You can't just sit there and wait for them to fly by, you have to go find them and do the hunt and stalk method. More times than not they got up before they were in range, but I did manage to get 5, enough for some appetizers.
